North Devon Link Road Nearing Completion
The end of the works is now in sight. The primary work on the North Devon Link Road from Borners Bridge to the Portmore Roundabout at Barnstaple is due to be completed by October 25th – much later than originally planned.
In the coming few weeks the contractor is to first concentrate on completing the Landkey junction works. The focus will then shift to completing the Borners Bridge junction between South Molton and North Molton and then the final major work set for completion before the 25th October will be to complete the junction works at West Buckland. The whole stretch also has to have the final drainage works completed and a final top surface dressing for the whole carriageway.
There will continue to be overnight closures with traffic being routed through South Molton, Filleigh, Swimbridge and Landkey until the end of October. All the details can be found by opening this PDF: Traffic Bulletin September 9th
It is envisaged that the above work will be completed in full by the end of October with the 40mph speed restriction being lifted although there will still be a lot of finishing work to be completed including landscaping and the installation of the average speed cameras between Aller Cross and the Portmore roundabout.
