CENTRAL PARK PLAY EQUIPMENT UP AND RUNNING

Last Updated: August 5, 2024By

South Molton Town Council are delighted to have completed the installation of brand new play equipment in central park.

The focus of the new equipment was to provide a safe space for younger children and their parents to enjoy the new swings, a slide and a mini South Molton Town Hall tower. As part of the upgrade, additional calisthenics equipment has been installed along with provision for those with disabilities to be able to have access to some of the new facilities offered.

The Park was officially opening by Mayor Jacqui Footman on Friday 26th July with Town Councillors and also two visitors from sister city Shama attending the opening.

Town Clerk Andrew Coates says, ‘This has been a long time coming but it was important to get the right equipment and we are especially pleased with the provision made for the youngest members of our community. The project was funded in part by S106 monies (that’s property developer contributions from the array of new homes being built in town) as well as by the Town Council itself.

Central Park is an important amenity for all to enjoy and the installation of this new equipment allows children of all ages to have a safe space to play with their family and friends.’
