The event is estimated to have raised £7,000 for Care for Kids, which provides financial support to the families of children with life threatening illnesses and carries out projects at the NDDH children’s ward.
Dean Wickett was the first to cross the finish line, in a time of 36:23. Jack Hastings took second place at 36:47 and David Nutt was the third fastest, with a time of 36:50.
The fastest female was Samantha Baker, who finished in 39:38. Joanne Page took second place at 41:06 and Helen Harbottle was the third fastest, with a time of 41:33.

Charity Manager Jacky Massos says: “Our runners didn’t let the rain stop them on Sunday – everyone threw themselves into the race with as much enthusiasm as usual and the sun did come out eventually! Thanks to everyone who made our event possible – the volunteers, sponsors and of course all the runners and their supporters. All the money raised will make a massive difference to our small charity and the local families we support.”
Tim Watson from Brewer, Harding & Rowe says: “Another year, another great event! We feel really privileged to have, once again, been given the opportunity to be headline sponsors of the Care for Kids 10K, a remarkable charity dedicated to supporting families of children diagnosed with a life threatening condition.
